Vigoda has a degree in Anthropology from the University of Chicago and
studied ceramics at Sir John Cass College of Art, London. She has been
teaching pottery and art for 30 years including at Sage College and the
Albany Institute of History and Art. Her work is represented by fine
galleries and shops nationwide.
In 1974 she established her own studio in a 150 year old farmhouse in upstate NY.
In 1983 the studio moved to a renovated factory building in
Albany NY where it was located for 19 years. It has recently
been moved to 9 Keith Rd. Delmar, NY 12054 .
Her work has many influences. A
special love is painted folk pottery and embroidery designs from around the world.
Each piece is handmade, hand painted, fired to 2180 degrees F, and is completely lead free. It should be cared for as with
any fine china. Sudden extreme temperature changes should be avoided. It is best to
hand wash. It may be used for gently
heating food in the oven or microwave but not in a hot oven or on the
stovetop.
These pieces are meant to brighten your day from your
warm morning cup to the special times shared with family and friends.
